Rolling Eye

Computer programmes play a central role for internationally renowned architect Greg Lynn: he started modelling his architectural designs with CAD programmes very early on. For his work Rolling Eye, Greg Lynn uses the cargo and transport robot Gita by Piaggio Fast Forwards. Google’s Jump camera rig is mounted on top of the robot: 360-degree recordings are made possible by sixteen cameras arranged in a circle.

The robot accompanies the world-famous architect Frank Gehry, the renowned museum director Max Hollein or the architecture critic Aaron Betsky through Los Angeles, San Francisco or the Arizona desert. The resulting moving image is then projected onto the palace’s façade.
