A musical adventure against an extraordinary backdrop: PUR is coming to Karlsruhe! On Friday, August 6, 2027, one of Germany’s most successful pop bands will kick off the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival in Karlsruhe. Against the impressive backdrop of Karlsruhe Palace, PUR’s greatest hits will merge with the fascinating world of media art. The concert on Schlossplatz is also part of PUR’s new tour, “Ein Sommer, der bleibt” (A Summer to Remember).

It’s almost obvious that PUR and the theme of the 2027 SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE are a perfect match. Under the title “Playground – The Art of Playing,” the Karlsruhe media art festival is dedicated to the art of play—the joy of discovery, imagination, and the freedom to create new worlds. And who could be a better fit than a band that, with its album “Abenteuerland,” took an entire generation on a musical journey of discovery? For decades, PUR has been telling stories from life in its songs, evoking memories, and inviting listeners to leave their everyday lives behind for a moment. Music as a play on emotions, images, and imagination—that’s also the idea behind the festival’s motto.
