This audiovisual installation explores Friedrich Weinbrenner’s integration of architecture and the city and reveals traces of the past within the church’s interior today.

The work examines the Protestant City Church on the Market Square as part of Weinbrenner’s (1766–1826) broader architectural vision: axes, lines, and verticals that coalesce into pilasters, round arches, and coffered ceilings, until the interior opens up toward the market square and Karlsruhe’s fan-shaped city layout. *Echo of an Order* is dedicated to Weinbrenner’s architecture and focuses on the contemporary traces left by his urban design.

The work can be viewed on large LED screens in the afternoon; as dusk falls, a projection unfolds within the church interior.

Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Thursdays following the concert until 11:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to midnight

Under the direction of Pastor Claudia Rauch and Director of Church Music Christian-Markus Raiser, concerts and an evening meditation in response to Nikolaus Völzow’s installation will take place on the following days at 6:30 p.m.:

August 14, August 20, August 27, September 3, September 10, all at 6:30 p.m.   

The installation will not be open to the public on the following dates: August 16, August 23, September 12.
